Women Reconnecting and Engaging with Nature (WREN Program) is planning their first outing at Dale's Ridge at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 5th. This program, led by women, is designed to teach women and girls the skills they need to enjoy nature and the outdoors. The WREN program provides an environment where participants can freely ask questions, acquire new skills, and enjoy the camaraderie of each other's company. It aims to help women re-engage and actively participate in the natural environment. The primary goal is to build a strong, supportive network among women, equipping them with the necessary skills and confidence for outdoor activities. By sharing experiences and offering mutual support, the program seeks to create deep connections, empowering participants to engage with nature confidently. Monthly programs will focus on hiking, camping, fishing, kayaking and basic outdoor skills. Topics can be added or adjusted based off the needs of the group. We hope to be able to participate in a few trips to put these skills to use in real world situations. July 5th's hike at Dale's Ridge in Lewisburg provides varying terrain in a relatively easy 2.4-mile hike. It is a great location for first time hikers to get a better feel for the activity. If you would like to accompany the group on this hike or join WREN please register at the link below.
