There’s no better way to celebrate the change in seasons than with a Spring Wildflower Walk at Montour Preserve! Join us on Saturday, April 12, at 10:00 AM as the Pennsylvania Master Naturalists lead a guided walk through the preserve’s trails, where we’ll explore the beauty and diversity of Pennsylvania’s native wildflowers. As the forest floor wakes up from winter, delicate trilliums, violets, trout lilies, Virgina blue bells, and other early bloomers make their appearance. On this walk, we’ll learn how to identify different species, learn about the biodiversity of native flowers at Montour Preserve and discover their ecological roles. This is the perfect chance to get outside, connect with nature, and appreciate the fleeting beauty of these early blooms before they disappear for the season. The wildflower walk will be between 1-2 miles in length on relatively easy trails. Families are encouraged to attend. If you have any questions, please reach out to program supervisor Marissa Crames at (570) 850-1166 or via email at [email protected]. Please register for this event below.
