At 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21st, the Vernal School's early literacy and STEM program, Read and Explore will visit Montour Preserve's fossil pit. The fossil pit is a favorite amongst the children who regularly attend the program. A much-loved feature of Montour Preserve, the fossil pit is fun for children of all ages. Participants of the Read and Explore program will learn about the tools paleontologists use and have the opportunity to find Devonian era fossils themselves. Read and Explore is designed for preschool age children and their families. This program meets weekly at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays. Each week the program will offer a different topic and hands-on experience. Please bring your shovels, buckets or rock hounding tools it you are able.
