On April 27th and 28th, Montour Preserve will be hosting a Wildlife Art Show, organized by local artist Bob Crain. The Wildlife Art Show has been an annual tradition since the 1980s, typically held in the autumn. This year introduces the first spring show, adding to the tradition. Local artist, Bob Crain, who was featured in the first show, has taken on the role of lead organizer to continue this longstanding event. Bob Crain, whose journey in the world of art began in the 1960s, brings a wealth of experience and passion to this show. Starting his career in commercial art, Crain's passion for wildlife led him to pursue becoming a wildlife artist. Not only a talented painter, Bob was also an illustrator for the Pennsylvania Game News Magazine. His art was featured on the cover six times.
The Spring Wildlife Art Show will feature the works of over a dozen talented local artists, showcasing a diverse range of art forms including pencil sketches, oil paintings, and scratchboards. Visitors will have the opportunity to appreciate not only traditional mediums but also wildlife photography. Bob has emphasized that the Wildlife Art Show is a family friendly event, suitable for all ages. It's an opportunity for enthusiasts, both young and old, to engage with and appreciate wildlife through art. We encourage you to bring your family to this free event and afterwards take some time to enjoy the wildlife living at the preserve.
