Join Andrew Rockhound and the Central PA Rock and Mineral Club for an exciting Fossil Event and Dig at Montour Preserve on Sunday, April 13, at 1:00 PM. Whether you're a seasoned collector or just curious about what’s beneath your feet, this hands-on program is perfect for anyone who loves fossils, geology, and discovering the past. Andrew Rockhound of the Central Pennsylvania Rock and Mineral Club is a passionate fossil hunter and geology expert. He will kick things off with an engaging talk on fossil identification, local rock formations, and the ancient history hidden in Montour Preserve’s shale beds. After an indoor presentation, we will move out to the fossil pit to dig fossils of our own. The fossil pit at Montour Preserve is a treasure trove of prehistoric marine life, where you might uncover remnants of brachiopods, trilobites, crinoids, and other creatures that lived here millions of years ago.
