Camp Chillisquaque is set to return to Montour Preserve in July 2025. This free educational day camp, organized by the Vernal School Environmental Education Partnership, offers children aged 7 to 13 an immersive experience in environmental science and conservation. This year’s camp will center around Chillisquaque Creek, offering campers the chance to dive into the science of our local watershed. Participants will participate in hands-on scientific experiments, research and projects, all aimed at understanding the health and importance our local ecosystem. Some of this year's activities include:
Learning through action As always, Camp Chillisquaque has a hands-on approach. Campers won’t just learn about environmental problems — they’ll take part in a real-world project to help improve the local watershed. Free, fun and full of discovery Camp Chillisquaque blends fun and learning in a safe, supportive environment, encouraging curiosity, teamwork, and environmental stewardship. Campers must bring a packed lunch and refillable water bottle. We will provide an afternoon snack. Camp dates Each single day camp runs from 9:30 A.M.-3 P.M. and is limited to only 20 participants per day. Monday, July 21- CAMP FILLED Tuesday, July 22 Wednesday, July 23 Thursday, July 24 Friday, July 25 With limited space available, families are encouraged to register early.
