The Vernal School's new Aquatic Explorers Club is an exciting program for youth ages 10-14, designed for those who love water, wildlife, and hands-on exploration! Meeting twice a month on Sunday evenings at 5:30 PM at Montour Preserve, this club offers young adventurers the opportunity to discover aquatic ecosystems, learn paddle sports, fish and take part in the conservation efforts in the region. The first meeting for the club will be March 9th. As part of the Learning for Life program, the Aquatic Explorers Club is chartered by the Middle Susquehanna Riverkeepers Association, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting and preserving the Susquehanna River and its tributaries. This club has an annual registration and calendar. Through interactive activities, field investigations, and fun activities, club members will gain valuable scientific skills while developing a deep appreciation for our waterways and the life they support. From stream studies and wildlife observations to kayaking adventures and environmental stewardship projects, participants will actively engage in learning experiences that foster teamwork, leadership, and environmental responsibility. If your child is passionate about science, outdoor exploration, or conservation, the Aquatic Explorers Club is the perfect place to dive into discovery and make a difference!
