The Montour Preserve’s annual Maple Sugaring Open House will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the preserve, located at 374 Preserve Road, Danville. This family-friendly event offers visitors the chance to learn about the fascinating process of maple sugaring while enjoying hands-on activities and educational programming. Admission is free, though donations to support the preserve are appreciated. Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy:
Visitors are welcome to arrive and depart at any time during the event. Comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended for the short walk to the sugar shack. Please note that only service dogs are permitted on the property. The event is open to all ages and is an excellent opportunity to explore one of nature’s sweetest processes. School groups and organizations are invited to participate for two special days of programming at the Montour Preserve. These field trips will take place on Thursday, February 20, and Friday, February 21, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is no mandatory fee for school groups; however, MARC encourages a donation of $2–$5 per student to help offset costs.
